  26. About the Author

“You have no idea.”

“And what exactly are these cocky douchebag eyes saying, Olivia?”

“Really dirty things,” I say and he looks down at me with a sly smile and for a moment, I think he’s going to crawl on top of me and show me what his cocky douchebag lips can do.

I’ll never be able to watch The Santa Clause without getting turned on again.

But there’s a knock on the door that’s so fierce that it causes Asher to jump back.

“Uncle Asher! Let me in! It’s a snow day!”

The doorknob jiggles as Chloe grows frustrated.

“Shit,” Asher curses. “Hold on, Chlo.”

He’s already upstairs and putting on pants before I can dive further under the blankets. Spending the day with Asher’s very cute niece was not in my plans.

“Uncle! Asher!”

“Chloe, we’ve talked about patience.”

I lift an eyebrow at him as he runs down the stairs and shoves his arms through the sleeves of a shirt. They’ve talked about patience? What was that conversation like? Asher has none.

“Why’s the door locked? I can’t get in. I can always get in.”

Asher ignores her question and throws a pair of sweatpants at me.

“This is very unfortunate,” I say as I put them on.

He watches as I jump and wiggle my way into them. He swallows.

“Yes, I’m aware.”

I’m back under the covers when Asher walks over to the door, ruffling his messy hair with each step. When he finally opens the door, Chloe barges through with Morgan following closely behind.

“You get to watch me while Mommy tells someone off in court,” Chloe announces before she sees me. “Why is Olivia here? Why is she in your clothes?”

A blush that matches Asher’s warms my cheeks.

“Why is Olivia in your clothes, Ash?” Morgan asks.

“Did you have a sleepover?” Chloe asks as she jumps on the couch next to me. “Was it fun? Did you watch movies? Eat candy? Yesterday was Uncle Asher’s birthday. Did you know that? Did you get him a present? What was it? Do you guys kiss?”

“Chloe,” Morgan says.

“Sorry.”

Morgan turns to Asher. “Do you mind? It’s just for a couple hours. But if you’re busy, I can—”

“It’s fine.”

She kisses his cheek. “Thank you so much. Bye, Chloe! Mommy loves you!”

When she leaves, Chloe smiles at both of us.

“Uncle Asher?”

“Yes?”

“Can we build a snowman?”
