There were also strawberries dipped in chocolate, arranged like a bouquet of flowers. No doubt about it, the hotel had gone above and beyond in creating the perfect ambiance for their wedding night. Leanne surprised herself by feeling a tad nervous as she changed out of her wedding dress and into the sexy number she’d packed specially for tonight. Not that she planned on wearing it long.
Trev stood in the middle of the room in his boxers, seeming confused as to what he should be doing, like he’d paused to think about it and not reached any conclusions. She sauntered toward him, grabbed his hand, and led him over to the table for two placed before the inspirational view of the Vegas Strip. The champagne was open already, so she poured two glasses and settled into the nearest chair, crossing her legs slowly to draw his attention.
“To happily ever after,” she said in a faintly ironic tone.
“Sounds like you don’t believe in that.” He clinked his flute against hers and took a sip then set the drink aside.
To avoid answering the question, she slid out of her chair and perched on his lap. He immediately shifted to accommodate her, snuggling her against him with gently encircling arms. With a soft sigh, Trev rested his chin on her shoulder, grazing her loose curls with his cheek. One nuzzle, another, then he swept the hair aside entirely to press kisses up and down the side of her throat. That felt exquisite, tender and sexy at the same time. She looped an arm about his shoulders and let the pleasurable sensations wash over her.
“We didn’t talk about it, but I got tested in case you want to—”
“So did I,” Trev cut in with a soft laugh. “Looks like great minds think alike.”
“I’m clear. All good on your end?”
He nodded. “Want to see the email?”
“I trust you. We can forego the condom if you like. Contraception is covered.”
It occurred to her then that she often went hard at sex—more interested in getting off and getting out than enjoying the experience. For some reason, she didn’t feel that way with him, as if she didn’t need to keep both hands on the wheel. So, when he shifted his arms and lifted her, carrying her toward the bed with bold strides, she merely curled closer.
