  30. ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I cried out to King Elyon, asking that I would not forget, but that if the memories faded I would cling to what is true even when I could no longer see or hear it.

The clouds broke, and I saw the sun again. I’d returned to a world of death and darkness but with windows to life and light. As I drove west toward my family, I searched the sky in vain, looking for Charis. In my mind’s eye I could see a great shining city on a hill, and beyond it a country of unimaginable wonder. It was there when I saw it, I told myself, and there when I did not.

Things are not as they appear.

I walk between two worlds. I stand on the edge of eternity.

I thank the King for whatever time he’s given me.

Here, in this brief window of opportunity.

Here, in this land of second chances.
