“You okay?”

She took Hadrian’s hand and smiled at him. “I am. Just thinking how grateful I am that you can read our children’s thoughts.”

Laughing, he kissed her and then Tara’s head. “Especially this one. She’s got too much of her mother in her.”

Jinx picked up Lyra who squealed in delight.

Jayne didn’t miss the sadness in her sister’s eyes. Because the League still owned Jinx, they didn’t dare have children of their own.

Her heart ached for her sister. All they could do was pray that the rebellion Jayne and her friends had started would free him the way he’d freed her and Hadrian.

“Congrats.” Eve kissed her on her cheek, then kissed Sway. By the way her sister’s eyes shined, she knew Eve meant it. There was no jealousy or hard feelings.

It was why she loved her, too.

“To new beginnings.” Jayne squeezed her hand.

Eve smiled as she held her hand out to Hadrian and he took it. “And to family.”

After all, family was forever. They were united by mutual respect. Sacrifice.

But most of all, they were united by love.

Forever and always.
