Kit Brookman

Dramaturg

Kit’s plays include Small and Tired (Belvoir) Night Maybe (Stuck Pigs Squealing), and Heaven (seasons at the Old 505 Theatre, Sydney and LaMama, Melbourne). Close was shortlisted for the Griffin Award and the Patrick White Playwright’s Award, and was recently presented at the 2013 National Play Festival. Small and Tired was also shortlisted for the Griffin Award. Breath is currently in development with independent company nowyesnow. Kit was the winner of the 2012 Phillip Parsons Young Playwright’s Award, and was an Associate Writer at Belvoir Street in 2012. He is currently writing new plays for Belvoir and Griffin Theatre Company. His poetry has been published in some of Australia’s leading literary journals including HEAT, Southerly, Harvest and Westerly. Kit is a member of playwrights’ collective ISM.
