"Very well," he said, "but I'll be just below you with the flame. After all, you'll need to see what you're doing."

She grabbed the first rung, then took a deep breath. Exhaling slowly, she began the climb. Soon, she was at the top. The handle here looked like it rotated something, so she grabbed it and began turning, finding it remarkably easy to do. The stonework above her started to shift, and then a small strip of the night sky came into view.

"Extinguish the flame," Natalia whispered, "I can see moonlight."

Athgar dispelled the flame and watched as the small strip of the night sky became larger. It was a remarkable feat of engineering, and Athgar wondered who had built such a tunnel. This had been a temple to the old Gods, Cyric had said, and yet surely those that had served the old Gods wouldn't need an escape tunnel!

Natalia climbed out, then looked back down at Athgar. "It's safe," she whispered, "come on."

Up went the Therengian, to emerge into the outdoors, his feet hitting grass as he turned to look back at their exit. It was hidden beneath a statue, made of stone, that had rotated off of its base, revealing the tunnel. The release mechanism was easy to see, and so they activated the lever that moved the statue back to its original position. There was a quiet click, and then the lever vanished into the shoe of the figure.

"The wall," whispered Natalia.

Athgar nodded, moving into the lead. The perimeter of the mission had a brick wall that was slightly taller than his head and covered with ivy. He reached up, grabbing the top, then hauled himself up to peer over its edge, only to see a backstreet, devoid of any light. Silently thanking the Gods, he pulled himself to the top, reaching down to grasp Natalia's hand. She briefly balanced on the wall, and then they both dropped to the other side, disappearing into the inky blackness of the night.

Brother Cyric opened the door to see three Temple Knights before him, each wearing the distinctive grey tabard of their order.

"Is there something I can do for you, Brother?" he asked.

"My name is Brother Septimus," their leader replied. "We have reason to believe you are harbouring fugitives."

"We tend to the sick and poor," offered Cyric, "if one of them is a fugitive, then you are welcome to take him."

"We seek a woman," said the Cunar leader. "She goes by the name of Natalia Stormwind."

"What has she done?" asked Cyric, still blocking the door.

"That is none of your concern," noted Brother Septimus.

"If you wish to gain entry to this mission, then it is my concern," Cyric refuted.

"Stand aside!" demanded Septimus. "We are Temple Knights."

"As am I," said Cyric, seeing the surprise on the man's face.

"Then you know, as well as I, Brother, that we must see justice done."
