ALMA: I think how I can use Eugene’s voice. I cannot change THE BODY–(Pause) MY BODY but the voice. I can make my voice sound like Gene’s. I can take his inflections and rhythm. I can listen to the gentle way he pronounces his S’s and T’s. I can make the R’s sound like honey in my throat. I can take from the books I read–the words in my head and the words in my throat–I can combine those words–I can have a new voice–My own voice–
