“Maize, you feel so fucking good,” he whispers as my mouth runs across his neck and up to his ear.

“I’m close,” I breathlessly tell him, and then the orgasm rips through me. My head falls on his shoulder as he holds me tight, but I don’t stop rocking my hips. Seconds later, he’s riding out his release too, letting out a guttural moan.

After we clean up and I put on my clothes from yesterday that smell like brisket, I tell him goodbye. He kisses me so softly, and I just want to spend all day rolling in the sheets with him. No one has ever made me feel the way he does, and it’s scary as hell.

“See you later?” he asks.

I nod and smirk. “I’d really like that. Want to meet me at the judging area at ten thirty-ish? They’re supposed to announce who won then.”

“I’ll be there,” he promises and pulls me in for one last kiss.

As I go to walk away, I look at him over my shoulder and smile.

“I already miss you,” he admits, and I playfully roll my eyes at him as I go to the front door. He’s everything I’ve ever wanted and needed, and I wonder what we’d be like if I actually gave him a chance. When I step outside, the sun is hot against my skin. I rush to my truck and try to think of what I’m going to tell my parents when I get home. It doesn’t matter how old I am; they question me when I’m out all night.

I pull up to the house, and I’m relieved to see Kenzie’s the only one home. Of course, she’s still asleep, though. At least, I hope she is because she’ll give me just as much shit about this.

I hurry and go to my room, grab a fresh set of clothes, and then jump in the shower. My only goal right now is to get back to the rodeo before my parents arrive. When I turn off the water and hear their voices, I realize that’s not gonna happen today. I take my time fixing my hair and getting dressed. Then I grab my keys and try to sneak past my parents in the kitchen.

“Where’ve you been all night?” Dad asks, stopping me.

“John, leave her alone,” Mom cuts in, thankfully.

He studies me. “You’ll always be my baby no matter how old you are.”

“And this is exactly why I want my own place,” I say with a big grin. “Also, my business is only for me to know.”

He sucks in a deep breath. “You are not moving out until you’re forty-five.”

I snort and pat him on the shoulder. “Nice try, Daddy.”
