(WOLF pays him the money.)
I’m going up there and give it back to them. See Old Man Albert himself. Let him know an airplane can fall on his head.
(STERLING starts to exit.)

WOLF: Don’t do that, Sterling. Them people don’t play.

STERLING: If I don’t play . . .  that mean there can’t be no game. I’m going up there and carry me a big sign say “Game Canceled.” See? Cause I don’t play either.
(STERLING exits.)

RISA (calling after him): Sterling!
(The lights go down on the scene.)

SCENE 4

(The lights come up on the restaurant. RISA is sweeping the floor. STERLING enters.)

STERLING: I come by to see if you wanna go to the rally.
(He doesn’t get a response.)
It done started already but I figure we won’t be too late.

RISA: You left out of here talking about you was gonna see the Alberts. . . . We didn’t know if we was gonna see you again.

STERLING: I didn’t know it mattered to nobody. I heard you calling me. What you calling after me for?

RISA: I just didn’t want to see you get killed.
