- THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING
Next, I have to say thank you to Erin who, regrettably, had to deal with every up and down of this book. From the panic of planning and writing, to the late nights where I walked her through every plot point, to the months of anxiously waiting to see if I would get a book deal – she dealt with it all. She’d get me dinner when I felt I couldn’t leave my keyboard, made sure I drank water when I was in the deep depths of my creativity, and would always remind me to stop and enjoy the moment when I got overwhelmed. I’m afraid to think about what this book would be without her, but I’m guessing it would be trashed somewhere and never see the light of day. Thanks for always being the first line of my support system.
Next I have my friends. Katie, Patrick, Brooklyn, Courtney, Emily, Morgan, Bridget, Brennan, Jess and names I am no doubt forgetting. You all have stuck by my side and cheered me on every step of the way. Thank you for loving me in all stages of life and for always celebrating me, win or lose.
And Galia; we met in the most unexpected way, but I am forever thankful for our niche little mutual hobby. You have humbled me a hundred times over, made me question my ability to write, and made me want to cry (but I never did) – but all of this made me a better writer. Your feedback was critical to this story and its success, and I am forever grateful for our five-hour FaceTimes and your willingness to always tell me what I need to hear even if I don’t want to hear it.
Now, Steph, what can be said? You invested in me when you didn’t have too. You gave me hours of your time, hours of your effort, and insight that this book would not have moved forward without. Your feedback and edits helped make this book what it is, and I am so grateful that you were willing to work with me even from across the country. But even more than that, your belief in me truly helped change the way I see myself. You are always the first to celebrate my wins, to remind me of my value and to shut down any of my negative thinking. In so many ways this book would not exist without you. I am so grateful for your friendship, your guidance and your kind heart.
