His hands came around to cup my ass, his muscles tense around me. “Look at me.”
Against my will I met his eyes, his dark gaze reaching out and consuming me. I felt him harden against my pelvis, and it took every ounce of self-control I had to remain still and put one hand on the side of his face. The two shadow demons hovered, knives at my back. Thad’s eyes closed, his body relaxing for a split second. Then his eyes shot open again, blank as a stone. I wished I could rip his dick off and stuff it down his throat.
“Move.”
My scowl could have banished all the mold from this dungeon as I moved my hips unwillingly against his, unable to protest when his hands on my ass held me harder against him. His lips ghosted against my ear, and I hated the reaction of my body; how I leaned into him, how his whisper sent an odd thrill down to the base of my spine, even as I longed to kill everyone in the room.
“Run your teeth along my neck.”
I fisted his shirt to hide my enraged, shaking hands. My claws cut through the thin material of the tunic and into his skin, but he didn’t so much as flinch. I leaned forward, my fangs grazing along the skin of his neck. He tried to hide it, but I heard his breathing hitch. I had an overwhelming urge to sink my teeth into his neck, to taste and see if his blood was as black as his eyes and shriveled, miserable heart. My hands trailed down his side to rest on the edges of his breeches, my fingers with a mind of their own as they hooked into his belt loops. His hands drifted lower down my body, curling underneath the edges of my skirt. His hardened erection strained between both of us.
“As much as I appreciate your enthusiasm, I don’t intend to see you actually mount her.” Severn’s voice dripped with disdain.
I froze, coming back to reality with horrifying clarity. I focused on a single line of blood that ran down Thad’s chest from my claws. I needed to release my anger, my confused feelings burning through my veins. “Don’t have the stomach for it, Severn? Unsurprising. Bet you can’t even get it up, which is why you resort to tying us down.”
Everyone in the room froze. The demons with the knives backed away, anticipating Severn wanted to handle me himself.
“Thad,” Severn’s voice was a deadly whisper, “muzzle your little bitch.”
My smile was deadly as I enjoyed the anger that twisted his translucent features. “Can’t do it yourself? Or—”
The punch to my head didn’t surprise me at all, and I would have fallen off of Thad’s lap if he hadn't caught me, his arms in an iron grip around my waist. I saw stars and slumped back against Thad’s chest.
Severn stepped back, satisfied. “Meet me for dinner. We have much to discuss.”
