Chapters (21)
Hope all is going well for you. You’re well out of the chaos at work. Spencer got chewed out by head office for losing the Kamasan campaign and he’s spitting chips and stamping around the office. Good luck with it all. If you ever need an office manager, don’t forget me! Like everyone else here we’re all looking for new jobs! Good luck, Grace.
All best,
Alli
Poor Allison. Grace made a mental note to offer her a job in the future if given the chance. Well, thank goodness she was out of the Spencer tantrum city.
A short while later, she received a text from Steve.
Are you home? Want a drink? I could come over to run through some of the footage we got today if you want? Otherwise, what’s the schedule for tomorrow?
Grace glanced at her watch. It was nine o’clock. She texted back, Great idea. See you soon.
She was finishing her emails when the security man let Steve in through the side gate.
‘Hi. Is everyone in bed?’
‘Daisy has crashed. Mum is still out gallivanting. I hope she didn’t get stuck entertaining Lawrence. Did I tell you I found out he’s staying near the Kamasan, at The Stones? Makes me nervous when he starts getting nosey.’
‘Have you worked out why he’s here?’
‘Not really. Just prying, I’d say. Pull up a chair. How does today’s stuff look?’
‘I brought it to show you. There’re some great shots of Andy on that really big wave.’ Steve handed her a bottle of cold wine. ‘Here you are. How was the dinner? I’m sorry we couldn’t make it.’
‘That’s fine. Don’t worry about it. I brought Daisy home straight after the main course. Would you believe Johnny and his entourage turned up? He had the new chef in tow. Chef Gede had to come back even sooner than expected as his grandfather’s ill. He seems really nice. He’s going to work well on camera, I think.’
‘Perfect. Okay, here’s the footage Henry shot with the drone.’ Steve opened his laptop.
They ran through the shots from the day, Grace making notes about the bits she liked or felt could work.
Tina came in just as Grace and Steve were finishing up their notes, schedule and plan for the next few days.
‘Hey, Tina, did you have a good night?’ asked Steve, standing up to greet her.
‘Lovely place, the food was delicious. I enjoyed chatting with Andy. He knows so much about Bali. We remember a lot of the same things.’
‘Did Lawrence stay on? And Johnny and the others?’ asked Grace.
Tina rolled her eyes. ‘Lawrence was in Johnny’s ear the whole time. I think Rosie got a bit fed up with him.’
‘Do you want a nightcap, Tina?’ Steve said.
