‘Also, beta, understand that if you have the opportunity to sit and pray then you have been blessed with the privilege of being allowed to sit in commune with The One. It is an honour and a privilege to be able to pray and one needs to be blessed with the Karma or the destiny to be able to do that. Everybody does not have the privilege to spend time in prayer, beta. Their lives and circumstances might not grant them this opportunity to pray. We have worked lifetimes to be able to come to this place in our existence where we can sit and pray and pursue spirituality and spiritual practices. We have worked lifetimes to cultivate the inclination to pray and this opportunity should not be wasted. This opening to be able to have the inclination to pray and the need to pray should not be taken lightly and this opportunity should not be wasted away. Why is it that some of us have the inclination, time, place, energy, to be able to walk the Path of prayers and so many don’t? Why is it that, all of a sudden, the need to pray has arisen after years? Why is it that after praying for years or decades suddenly the inclination or the opportunity to continue with one’s spiritual practices dries out? Even to be able to get the environment, time or inclination to spend time in prayer is because in some lifetime we have worked towards this. We have created a destiny that has allowed us to make this Path our priority or a way of life in this lifetime and now we are partaking of the fruit of our intent and hard work from some other lifetime. But remember, the sand is flowing. We have accumulated a quantum of Karma to be able to pray too and either we keep refilling that sand glass or we let the sand fritter away. Nothing is permanent. Everything has been accounted for and there is a time period for everything. Either we increase our lot or let it waste away as a formality. We have been blessed with a certain number of hours to be able to become one with The One. Let us say that an individual has earned the Karma to pray. He or she has got the opportunity of a thousand hours of prayers or any other spiritual pursuit. Now the question is would we like to use each minute of each hour of those thousand hours in dedicated pursuit, thereby increasing the number of hours through our dedication and earnestness or do we squander away those thousand hours and then be left with nothing? Would we like to waste those precious hours gifted to us by Providence and our own hard work of some lifetime and convert grace into a formality and a box to be ticked off as a routine, or would we like to make the most of this opportunity and make each second in each minute in each hour count, and in fact, increase the end total through our complete Oneness to prayers? From every grain that enters our mouth to every opportunity for prayer, there is a count, a meter ticking away, sand flowing through. There are no free meals in the cosmos. We have earned the right for every blessing and every good fortune that we enjoy and we are responsible for every baggage and cross that we carry and everything comes with an expiry date. Do we want to squander grace and convert it into a formality or do we want to take this opportunity and convert it into everlasting grace, is in our hands. Common sense says that when you have dedicated a certain amount of time for prayer, it is best to give one’s best to that certain time, and live in that moment. Why squander away the time and the opportunity? Anyway, you are going to sit for that amount of time for prayer. Give it your best and immerse yourself into your devotion. Why waste the opportunity? When we pray we should be convinced that our prayers have such purity that whoever we are praying to is truly hearing our prayer. When we sit to pray, the fragrance of our prayers should force our Goddess, God and Guru to keep everything aside and listen to our call, be filled with our pukar, be one with our prayer too. When you pray with such intensity that The One shall listen to your prayer, then your purity, intensity, devotion and yearning will get wings to reach The One. The certainty that our prayers shall reach whoever we pray to, if done with complete devotion and love, will fuel our prayers and make sure our prayers reach our Loved One.’
