‘When you really look at things with a calm mind, automatically you begin to realize the futility of many actions and desires. This makes you more within, more in the moment which makes you further calmer, which allows you to drop more and more things, till the true priority of your existence only remains. You discern your strengths, weaknesses and limitations further and go further within. It is like the cycle of nature. Calmness leads to further stillness. Restlessness leads to further chaos. Slowly our priorities begin to harmonize with each other. Earlier we discerned what our priorities were but often our spiritual, emotional, intellectual, financial, social and physical priorities may not be in harmony with each other. As you get calmer, harmony automatically sets in. You will realize that what you thought was a priority is nothing more than ego or a distraction. Slowly all the priorities begin to complement each other and work in harmony and that leads us closer to our destination and our eventual salvation. This is very important, beta. Our priorities have to be in sync with each other otherwise it leads to greater discord. This we shall ascertain when we come from complete calmness and honesty within. So, once again we come back to our breath. The breath determines one’s thoughts. Thoughts influence our words and thus our breath, thought, word become fuel for our deeds. Thus, it originates from the breath and leads to deeds that eventually give birth to Karma, which then opens up another cycle of cause and effect. It all starts with our stillness or restlessness and leads eventually to stillness or chaos. To go within isn’t possible without calmness and calmness isn’t possible without true acceptance that You know best, so be it. Everything is entwined and it starts with the inquiry of who am I and what do I want to be and where do I want to reach? When you come from calmness, peace and well-being to oneself and all, then everything else will follow. That shall lead to compassion and forgiveness. As you walk this path you shall use your free will to liberate yourself and also those who are knotted up with you in this eternal Karmic dance of give and take, cause and effect. It shall happen naturally. But it all has to start with knowing who you are and where do you want to reach. If peace is your priority then you will take the harshest of steps to achieve everlasting peace. You will not surrender for transient peace but only everlasting peace. Even if the world doesn’t understand you and those you thought were yours go against you, you shall walk the Path silently. You shall walk the Path however hard and harsh it may be initially and you shall do it not only for yourself but for all concerned. This decision shall never be self-centred but all encompassing. But take the decision with a calm mind. When calm, nothing matters, and when restless, even heaven shall leave you disgruntled. I guess that is why there are earthbound souls as even heaven cannot change their minds and their insistence on going astray. On your Path, do not ask for miracles. Make yourself the miracle of acceptance, joy, courage and calmness. When going through angst, keep calm, try to be joyful, as our greatest test is to go beyond the mind, the thoughts, the fears, the logic and the injustice, just have faith in the wisdom, grace and compassion of The One. It is difficult but this is the Path. Walk it with a smile.’
