Through heavy bandages and feeding and breathing tubes, little could be seen of the person lying motionless except for the gentle movement of their lungs being mechanically inflated and deflated.

The uniformed man stared from outside for several seconds before turning away, satisfied, and leaving the way he’d come.

She was still alive. But it would be a long time before Dr. Layla Abo would be able to speak.

From the Author

Readers often ask how much of my books are based on fact.  The answer is ‘quite a lot.’   In my opinion, the less you need to stretch the truth, the better the story.  This also holds true for The Desert Of Glass.  Therefore, I thought you might be interested to know the following:

1)     First and foremost, the Desert of Glass is real.  It has existed for thousands of years between Egypt and Libya and is believed by many to have mystical and unexplained powers.  You can travel to Egypt and see it, and even take home a piece as a souvenir.

2)     The Hypothetical Third Party Theory is true.  Leading Egyptologists do indeed believe Egypt’s history to be somewhat of a mystery.  Developing very suddenly in comparison to other ancient civilizations, and many are still afraid to speak out on the subject.

3)     Everything mentioned in this book about quantum physics and ‘quantum energy’ is completely true.  Quantum physics is extraordinary and often referred to as ‘Einstein’s Nightmare.’  No one on the planet understands it, nor how our physical world can exist given the fundamental principles, or perhaps lack thereof, of the quantum world.  This suggests that we truly live in a world that should not be possible.  And more importantly, what we believe as real cannot be real.  And what we believe to be “not real”… may actually be.

4)     Music indeed survives the destructive powers of Alzheimer’s Disease, as described earlier in the book.  Countless studies have shown just how deeply and permanently ingrained our music memory is.  Look for this to be addressed further in the final Monument book.

5)     King Akhenaten was, in fact, King Tut’s father and a man of immense controversy.  Including rumors of unexplained knowledge.  He was indeed found in the mysterious and uncompleted tomb called KV55.  Verified through DNA identification, deep questions remain around his demise and burial, including the lingering question of who was originally buried with him.

6)     Finally, the great physicist Niels Bohr believed that a ‘curtain’ separating our physical world and the quantum world might really exist.  So the question may now be… where is it?

Thank you again for reading The Desert Of Glass.  I truly hope you enjoyed it.  If you did and wouldn’t mind taking a moment to leave a review for the book, this self-published author would be eternally grateful.

Thank you very much,

Michael
