The Chocolate Garden: A Magical Tale

To our children and the promise of what you all will be. May you always remember the magical, the sacred, and the playful as you journey through this beautiful life. We love you.

And to my divine entourage, who makes all things happen.

Molly and Kevin moved into a new house one day. The sun was shining and the house was pretty with its yellow door. But there was a big, scary dog next door that barked and growled at them.

image

Molly and Kevin had a big backyard and loved to play, but every time they went outside, the big, scary dog barked and barked at them. Molly and Kevin grew very afraid.

image

For a while Molly and Kevin played inside even when the sun was shining and they really wanted to be outside making sandcastles in their sandbox or swinging high on their swings.

image

Mommy asked them one day, “Why are you two not playing outside anymore?” Molly hugged Mommy’s leg and said, “That big, scary dog always barks and growls at us.” Kevin shook his head to let Mommy know he was afraid too.

image

Mommy came outside to play with Molly and Kevin, but the big, scary dog barked and growled so loud they ran inside and read their books.

image

The next day Mommy brought home a surprise. In the backyard were a whole bunch of pretty plants on their patio. The big, scary dog started barking at them, but Mommy knelt beside them and told Molly and Kevin that they were going to plant a chocolate garden.

image

Molly and Kevin had never heard of a chocolate garden, but they loved chocolate. They ate chocolate bars, and drank chocolate milk, and poured chocolate sauce on their ice cream.

image

Molly asked Mommy if the plants were made of chocolate and Mommy laughed and said, “No, sweetheart, but they have chocolate fairies that live in them who make the chocolate.” Molly and Kevin loved this idea.

image

Mommy showed them a plant with leaves the color of chocolate and said the chocolate fairies make the chocolate while Molly and Kevin are sleeping.

image

Mommy told Molly and Kevin that every morning, they would discover a piece of chocolate under their pillows from the chocolate fairies. Molly and Kevin clapped their hands in excitement, already tasting the sweet chocolate melting in their mouths.

image

Mommy hugged Molly and Kevin close to her and pointed to the big, scary dog barking at them and said, “The chocolate fairies sprinkle magical chocolate dust all over the yard every day and night so no one can find the chocolate. Not even that big, scary dog.”

image

Molly and Kevin were happy now. The big, scary dog might bark and growl, but he couldn’t jump the fence and chase them like they’d feared. The chocolate fairies would protect them.

image

Molly and Kevin helped Mommy plant all of the pretty chocolate plants that day. Some of them even smelled like chocolate cake, and Molly and Kevin loved those plants most of all.

image

Every time Molly and Kevin planted the plants, they would look under the leaves for the chocolate fairies, but Mommy said the fairies were too tiny to see.

image

That night when Molly and Kevin were asleep, the chocolate fairies inched out of their homes in the chocolate plants to make the chocolate. They sprinkled magical chocolate dust all over Molly and Kevin’s backyard. They even sprinkled some on the big, scary dog. He immediately stopped barking and fell asleep.

image

The next morning, Molly and Kevin had a piece of chocolate under their pillows and Mommy smiled when they showed their chocolate to her.

image

Mommy let Molly and Kevin eat their piece of chocolate with their breakfast after they promised to brush their teeth real good.

image

Molly and Kevin played in the backyard on their swings and in their sandbox from then on. The big, scary dog sometimes barked and growled, but they knew the chocolate fairies had sprinkled magical chocolate dust all over the yard so they were safe.

image

The more they played outside, the less the big, scary dog barked at them. Then one day he stopped coming to the fence and barking all together, and Molly and Kevin cheered. The chocolate garden had saved them.

image

Every night Molly and Kevin thanked the chocolate fairies for living in their backyard in the chocolate garden. And every morning, they giggled as they ate the piece of chocolate the chocolate fairies had made while they were fast asleep.

Dear Reader

Dear Reader,

Thank you for reading THE CHOCOLATE GARDEN: A Magical Tale to your family. If you loved the chocolate fairies and this story, please tell others by writing a review at the retailer where you purchased this book. When you post one, kindly let me know at [email protected] so I can personally thank you. Please also consider recommending this book to other Mommy and Daddy Friends, your Day Care providers, and Parenting Groups. Thank you in advance!

This book is a companion to my fictional novel for Mommys and Daddys called THE CHOCOLATE GARDEN, so if you enjoyed this book, whose story is originally shared in the fictional novel, you might enjoy the “big book with no pictures.” You can check out that book here, which Jennifer’s Corner Blog said is “On par with Nicholas Sparks’ love stories.”

I also have other books for Mommys and Daddys, starting with my #1 Bestseller NORA ROBERTS LAND. I hope you check them out because Mommys and Daddys need magical stories too.

And keep an eye out. There may be more chocolate fairies in the future...

Lots of light and blessing,

Ava
