My heart pounded in my hopefully temporary Volardi body. I wanted to scream ‘Yes’ but played it cool even though we both knew what the other wanted.
“Normally we would remain together and ‘bond’ but I can arrange for you to meet your family earlier. Perhaps we can leave with a minimum of disruption.”
His gaze went down, and I saw that knowing male stare. He was from another planet but those were guy eyes – even if they were purple. “It is a pity. You are small but pleasing like a rare shell. Your eyes aren’t a normal color like mine and your feet are small. Still, there is a certain… beauty with you.”
I blinked in response. Saying I was a ‘beauty’ seemed weird, but I wrote it off as cultural choices. I wasn’t ugly, but women didn’t go crazy for me. Guys did for my sis though. Knowing someone found me pleasing made my heart race. It wasn’t an insult and I couldn’t take it badly.
His gaze went off to the side. “It’s a pity things aren’t different. You would make a…” His voice trailed off and I couldn’t make out the last few words. “I’ll arrange for transportation in the morning.”
I let out a long, calming breath. Seeing Pa and having everyone know I could get pregnant would be embarrassing enough. Now I had to see Becky.
My gaze darted to the mirror. I used to think we were so different. Now we can both get knocked up.

There’s no real day or night in space. It wasn’t my usual bedtime, but one day wasn’t enough to break my sleep cycle. Although, it was strange to sleep with a man in my bed. I wondered if he wanted to talk or maybe do something more. Something I wasn’t prepared to do. Could I fight back and expect to win? I was technically male, but I didn’t have his muscle and strength.
Hell, if someone wanted to be nasty, they’d pull my gold chains attached to my nipples. I gave it a slight tug and sighed at the wonderful pain. I never thought there could be a good hurt, but there it was. Almost like I needed a bit of agony now to feel complete or maybe I couldn’t separate the two anymore.
I stared at my purple-eyed intended mate. We were a man and an Omega in bed together. Most Alphas would have tried something I’m sure. This wasn’t a wedding night, but it was close. The memory from the implant told me as much. Although, there was plenty that didn’t seem right. I heard that if an Omega and Alpha were made for each other, they would be crazy with lust. Even James said I was a match. And yet he was just lying there.
I breathed in deep. It’s not something I would even mention to anyone. Here in my own thoughts? Who would know?
The thought of well… more didn’t seem so bad.
