He was lean, easily six three, with short wavy dark-as-night hair and equally dark eyes.

But she knew those eyes.

A cold spear shot through her. “You.”

And with her word, everyone froze.

The man wiped blood from his nose, then leaned over and spit out blood from his mouth, ignoring Jethro’s command. “Sheesh. Talk about over-reacting.”

Colt’s mouth opened. “You were sneaking up to the house.”

“I wasn’t— I just didn’t want the entire neighborhood— Whatever. Tell him, Taylor.”

Colt glanced at her, one eye on the man. He apparently didn’t care that blood also dripped off his chin.

“It’s the guy, Colt.”

He frowned.

“The guy from the cruise ship. The one who told me that I should give him the vaccine.”

Colt turned back to the man, his entire body stiff.

“The name’s Roy,” he said now. Probably knew better than to reach out his hand to Colt. “I’m on your side.”

“Really,” Colt said. “Did you know that she was going to be kidnapped?”

“No. Although, we weren’t surprised. I’ve spent the past three months looking for her.” His eyes fell on Tae. “You’re hard to find.”

“Who is we?” Colt asked.

“Logan Thorne, Pete Sutton. A few others who work for President White. We call ourselves the Caleb Group. And we’re here to help.”

He came closer into the light. The fire had died to just coals.

Colt turned, and now ran his hand under his nose. The blood was starting to clot, it seemed.

“Pete Sutton was able to secure the information we needed. And now we need you.”

Again, Colt moved closer to her, and she nearly reached out her hand to hang on to him. Just like he’d told her to.

But wow, he looked rough, bleeding, his brown eyes fierce and dark. Watching him fight, it struck her fresh.

Colt was a warrior.

There was no way he was settling down.

“I got the information I need from Logan. I’m going to Atlanta,” Tae said.

“We’re going to Atlanta.” Zoey’s voice sounded behind her. She walked up and stood beside Tae. “We’ll make your vaccine.”

“Yes, but you’re not going to Atlanta,” Roy said.

“We’re not?”

“No. You’re going to Florida.” He ran a hand around the back of his neck, and if possible, the look on his face was even worse than the damage to it. “We think we figured out where the Petrovs are going to hit.”

“Where?” Colt asked quietly.

A beat and he made a face. “The happiest place on earth. Disney World.”

Tae just stared at him, her heart thumping in her ears. “What?”

But she never got an answer because Colt leaned forward, his hands on his knees, breathing hard.

“Colt?” She knelt next to him. He was sweating. Hyperventilating. “Slow down. Can someone bring me a bag?”
