“I’ve already talked to her parents,” Adam continued blithely, ignoring the comments from the peanut gallery. The rest of the gallery was still sitting quietly, various expressions of amusement and ‘oh my good’ looks on their faces, arranged on the furniture around Rick and Maria’s living room. Angel was out with her mom, but apparently Adam wasn’t taking any chances she might come home early to find all their friends there, so he’d called the meeting at Rick and Maria’s instead. “We’re going to do it in two weeks. The ceremony is going to be held on one side of their dance studio, the reception in the bigger ballroom of their studio.”
“Two weeks? The Saturday after Halloween?” Lexie asked, looking concerned. “You’re not going to make me skip the club’s Halloween party are you?”
“No, you can still have the party Friday,” Adam said, sounding a touch exasperated. Lexie looked relieved. “And we’re going to do an afternoon wedding, so everyone can still meet up at the club Saturday night. I’ll just need help with decorating and getting everything together - and getting Angel to pick out a dress.” He glanced over at Leigh.
She gave him a thumbs up. “I already know what she likes. I don’t even need her to pick one out.”
“Oh yeah, that sounds like a great idea,” Patrick muttered under his breath.
Olivia elbowed him in the side at the exact same time as Lexie did on his other side, making him grunt. The Domme gave him a look. “She’ll be fine, not everyone is a massive control freak like you.”
Everyone cracked up at the affronted and indignant look Patrick gave the redheaded kettle. Ellie covered her mouth as she snickered. She didn’t have the loudest laugh by any stretch of the imagination; she just didn’t want to draw Olivia’s attention in a negative way. Especially since Olivia had been noticeably temperamental lately.
“You... you...” Patrick was actually at a loss for words at Olivia’s blatant hypocrisy, which just made everyone laugh even harder.
Adam clapped his hands as Patrick floundered, drawing the attention back to him. “Okay people, seriously, who can help with what?”
As everyone started to volunteer for various jobs, Adam scribbled down notes on a pad of paper. Michael’s arm, which was already around Ellie’s waist, tightened as he whispered in her ear, sending little shivers down her spine as goosebumps rose. “This is going to be so much fun. She’s either going to love it or try to kill him.”
Ellie gave him a baleful look. “It won’t be much fun if she kills him.”
“I said try to,” Michael said cheerfully. “If he can’t keep her from doing so, he doesn’t deserve her anyway.”
“Ah. Noted.”
