Drew nods slightly and turns, almost immediately replaced by Alex.
THALIA
Looks like someone’s bringing his work home with him.
Alex follows Thalia’s gaze down to his hand holding the used Botox syringe.
ALEX
Why are you here?
THALIA
To see you. I called earlier but you didn’t pick up.
ALEX
And you didn’t stop to consider why.
THALIA
Alex, please, let’s not start this all again.
ALEX
No need to, you’ll be leaving now.
THALIA
You’re serious?
ALEX
Ridiculously serious. If you’d like to stay, you’ll have to smooth out those hideous crevices on your forehead. Just have a seat on the couch and I’ll be with you in a second.
THALIA
Alex, this is sick. I’m not getting a Botox injection at a party.
ALEX
Sick? You come to my home without an invitation and tell me how I behave is sick?
(To Drew)
Drew, will you get a car for the bitch in the red dress? She won’t be joining us any longer.
Drew turns obediently from where he stands a few feet away.
DREW
Yes, sir.
Alex turns abruptly from Thalia and walks over to Drew, speaking loud enough for all the guests to hear.
ALEX
Oh, and Drew? Drop her a good ten blocks from home, she can use the exercise.
DREW
Right, sir.
Partygoers admonish her with stares and light laughter.
Thalia flushes, looking around at the flawless faces scrutinizing her.
MAN in fly fishing waders lights a cigarette.
ALEX
It’s really a pity. You might have been halfway beautiful with some work.
Alex turns as Drew grabs her arm and escorts her out.
ALEX (CONT’D)
It always amazes me how horribly lazy people are. I generously offer a way to improve herself and she refuses it, rudely at that.
Alex walks over to MAN in fly fishing waders, pulls the cigarette out of his mouth and extinguishes it in his martini.
ALEX (CONT’D)
No smoking in the house. It’ll kill you.
He glances around the room, his eyes settling on JAKE & MARC (two gorgeous, muscular guys) leaning deeply into a wall, making out.
Slowly they stop, sensing they’re being watched.
With the slightest tilt of his head, Alex indicates they should follow as he turns and leaves the room.
INT. ALEX’S BEDROOM—NIGHT
BLACK blindfolds are pulled taut over the eyes of JAKE and MARC.
Pullout to reveal Alex tying the blindfolds.
The guys are kneeling on the floor in their underwear. They laugh and roughhouse with each other.
JAKE
I heard you had good parties, Alex, but this is impressive.
MARC
If we’d known you swung our way, we would have crashed one a long time ago.
Alex clamps handcuffs on the guys’ wrists.
ALEX
I don’t remember giving permission to speak.
Alex slips a chain through each set of handcuffs, securing them.
