- About the Author
“Oh, no. I can’t. Not right now. I’m nervous as hell about my first official stint for your company.”
“I know a surefire way to combat nerves.” He pulled me to him, our gazes locked.
No. I shouldn’t. I couldn’t. I…wouldn’t.
Except I would.
I knew I would.
He crushed his lips to mine.
Our kiss was raw and passionate. We didn’t have a lot of time, and we both knew it. We dived into that kiss, our tongues dueling and jousting, our lips sliding together and our teeth clashing.
It was wonderful. A wonderful kiss. And I was getting wet…
He broke the kiss and lifted me into his arms. “God, you drive me insane, silver. Completely insane.”
I smiled against his shoulder. I could handle that. I liked it. Loved it, even.
No man had ever said I made him insane.
What insanity did Roy have in mind for me? I couldn’t wait to find out.
He pushed through the door to the master suite where the bellhop had taken my bag. “I want to rip those goody-goody clothes off your luscious body.”
Yes. Yes, please. But no! “You can’t! This is the only suit I have.”
“I’ll buy you another suit.”
“Our meeting is in forty-five minutes!”
He sighed. “Fuck. You’ll have to undress yourself, then. I can’t be held responsible for what I’ll do to those clothes. They aren’t you, silver. You belong in that flowing sundress you were wearing last night. Or in simple jeans and a cropped T-shirt. Or short shorts and a tank. Not an uptight suit. Is it even comfortable?”
“Not really. But I’ve always worked in an office in New York City. This is what I have to wear.”
“If you were an artist, you could wear what you want.”
I clasped my hand to my mouth. “Did you—”
“No, I didn’t look at your painting, though I’ll be honest. I was tempted. If it had been anyone but you, I might have.”
“Why not me?”
“Because I promised you I wouldn’t, silver, and for some reason, I don’t want to break a promise to you.”
My breath caught.
Of everything he’d said to me in the short time I’d known him, this touched me the most. I wasn’t sure why. He’d waxed poetic about my eyes, my breasts, my body, my pussy…but this…
Was this for real?
Was he for real?
How could I express in words what feelings he invoked in me without scaring him into running away screaming?
Answer? I couldn’t.
So I’d express with my body. I shed each article of clothing quickly and succinctly, placing it all in a neat, though not folded, pile. Then I knelt before him, unbuckled his belt, and unsnapped and unzipped his jeans.
