Micah had steadfastly refused to look at the bill Damon had signed off on when they’d left, preferring to remain oblivious to the outrageous amount of money the man had undoubtedly spent on him.
Of course, Micah required more than just suits to play boyfriend to a billionaire – or, at least, said billionaire insisted he did, so the man also ended up dragging him to several boutiques, where he purchased Micah a variety of slacks, jeans, dress shirts, sweaters, and, embarrassingly enough, socks and underwear.
Micah allowed the man to have the final say on everything.
He hardly considered himself fashion-forward, and after all, it was Damon’s money.
The man seemed to take a surprising amount of pleasure in dressing Micah up like a doll. The bossiness in which he ordered Micah to try on this or that wasn’t shocking in the least – Micah had grown used to Damon’s unique brand of brashness. But the swarm of butterflies that erupted in Micah’s belly whenever the man seemed especially appreciative of an outfit or allowed his eyes to linger on Micah’s ass in a certain pair of pants made putting up with his effrontery worth it.
Besides, it wasn’t like the man didn’t take Micah’s opinion into account at all. Damon always asked Micah if the clothes he tried on were comfortable, and ordered the store attendant to grab anything he caught Micah eyeing.
Near the end of their excursion, Micah caught sight of a display of woman’s pleated skirts and briefly toyed with the idea of asking Damon if he could try one on. (Mostly because he remembered the man’s reaction to seeing him wearing one a week ago when he’d been “working”.) Ultimately, though, Micah did have some sense of self-preservation, and quickly redirected his eyes away from the display before Damon caught him looking.
Thankfully, the store with the skirts was their last stop, and Micah watched, feeling useless, as Damon crammed the handful of bags in the back of his vehicle with the rest of packages he had purchased. Apparently, Geoffrey had the day off, so Damon had been driving them around himself – not that Micah was complaining. The front of his Rolls-Royce was as sweet as the back.
When he was finished, Damon gestured for Micah to hop in the passenger’s seat, and he quickly obliged. All in all, shopping with Damon had been bearable – but only because the man had been with him the entire time.
The truth was, Micah was tired and ready to go home, where he could collapse onto his bed and sleep the rest of the day away. (What did it matter if it was only late afternoon?)
Micah’s stomach gurgled unhappily as he snapped on his seatbelt. He hadn’t noticed how hungry he’d gotten from all that shopping until that moment.
Maybe he’d throw a plate of pizza rolls in the microwave before crawling into bed.
Busy daydreaming of cheese-and-pepperoni stuffed goodness, Micah didn’t realize Damon had stiffened at the sound of his stomach rumbling. “You’re hungry.”
