- ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Tony waved Ralph and Julie off and walked over to Jake. ‘I’m shattered,’ he said. ‘That Ralph Gold is a hard guy to get to know. How much money have we made, do you know?’
Sharon was behind the bar, checking the till receipts, and she handed them both a final tally of the night’s takings. They both stared at it, then at each other. Tony picked up the receipt and walked into the light behind the bar. They had taken a fortune, it was unbelievable.
Sharon handed each of them a money bag, and they all walked towards their newly refurbished office. They filled the safe with the takings, and then turned to each other, giving out an enormous squeal of laughter and excitement, dancing around and hugging each other.
The staff were leaving, and Sharon noticed one of the young models Tony had been talking to earlier was still hanging around. ‘Goodness’ sake, Jake, doesn’t she want to go home? Show her out, will you.’
Tony walked towards Sharon. ‘She is home, Sharon, for tonight, anyway. I’ve invited her to see my new apartment.’ He gave her a wink and a smile, and walked towards the young woman with blonde flowing hair, waiting at the bar.
‘That, Jake, my love, is our cue to leave. Let the cleaners do the rest in the morning. Come on, let’s go home.’

The following morning brought proof of just how successful the night had been. There they all were, in the local newspapers with Julie and Ralph Gold. The headlines were saying that this new place in town was the place to be – if you wanted a great night out, go to Lambrianu’s.
Tony and Jake read the various newspapers, all giving great reviews.
The next night at the club was just the same, except the Golds weren’t there. But, they all had to admit, the promotion from the Golds was definitely worth its weight in gold!
Tony noticed more leggy models come to the club, bringing their groups of friends and their latest sugar daddies. Everyone knew that beautiful women attracted men, and so they would come flooding in, looking for the girl of their dreams.
After a couple of weeks, two accountants came to see Tony and Jake. They spoke privately in the office and informed them both that they were in charge of the money laundering that Don Carlos had spoken about. This was the agreement with Don Carlos for managing the club. Ralph and Don Carlos had always used the club for money laundering and the bossman had been their ‘Patsy’. They had let him ruin the West End club. As long as the money was laundered, Don Carlos and Ralph Gold didn’t care.
These two accountants were to take charge of the money side of things, for the time being. They would make sure that all the money was accounted for, and that not a single pound laundered there could be traced back to them.
