Astrid was a Level 4 cultivator?! That seemed unbelievable. Sure, she had been powerful, but a level that advanced was relegated to military units who had access to powerful cultivation equipment.
I thought about it for a moment. Maybe I shouldn’t have been so surprised after all. Astrid and Belinda had said that they were working for a secret government agency, and they’d said they had been living in the mansion for months. Perhaps regular workouts with this equipment had helped Astrid to level up? I could certainly imagine that. I would have to have a go at some of the gear myself and see what I could do.
I looked at Astrid’s stats again. Her Ring of Lesser Lightning Immunity must have been what had rendered the PentaTech soldiers’ Storm Spheres useless against her. I’d attempted to craft similar items at my workplace, but they were incredibly difficult to master. The most I’d managed was a necklace with a simple ward against fire spells, and that had only provided minimal resistance to burns. Useful for firefighters, sure, but it was a limited buff that would deteriorate quickly. A ring like the one Astrid wore would have been worth a fortune. Now that I was a Keeper, however, could I command Kyrine to duplicate the item?
I was about to ask Kyrine about it when I read the category below the items.
Evolutions.
I’d never seen cultivators assigned evolutionary stages before. Whatever magic the dungeon was using to create readouts must list Evolution levels as standard. I highly doubted cultivators could evolve like magical creatures could.
“Kyrine,” I said as I looked at the blank slots beneath Previous and Future Evolutions. “Why does the mansion list Evolutions under Astrid’s readout?”
“This is. . . unique,” she said. “Before you merged with me, that particular aspect of her attributes was not present. Nor do I recall ever seeing possible evolutions for anything other than dungeon creatures.”
“Weird,” I said. “Maybe there’s some kind of bug in your readout magic?”
“Impossible,” Kyrine said defensively.
I mentally shrugged. Maybe the problem was exclusive to Astrid.
I left the thought alone and looked at Astrid’s spells in more detail. I recognized most of them from my day job as a crafter. The only one I hadn’t had at least a little experience with was the Transform spell. I focused on it, and another notification appeared.
Transform—Lycan (Physical)
Level 3
XP: 550/4000

“Although she is only low level,” Kyrine said, “she has the potential to become a fearsome cultivator.”
