“Beverley Hills,” I corrected her with a smile.
“Yes, that’s what I said,” Kyrine said, her face almost in a scowl.
“Sure,” I said with a muffled laugh. “So, could you, say, create beer?”
Kyrine didn’t answer me. Instead, she smiled and lifted her hands. Her tiny diamond-like fingernails started to glow, and a small sphere appeared in the hot tub in front of me. It continued to glow until the light from it was almost blinding, and I shut my eyes. When I opened them again, I was staring at a brown bottle. I reached for it, and as soon as my hands closed around the glass bottle, I smiled in surprise and pleasure.
“It’s ice-cold!” I said as I popped the cap with my thumb.
“Only the best for my new master,” she said.
I had to admit, the sudden change in Kyrine was something else. From wanting to kill me as part of some test, to screwing the hell out of me, sharing her power, and creating bottles of beer from thin air. . . it was fucking amazing.
With intense pleasure, I lifted the bottle to my lips and took a big gulp. My eyes widened as the sweet and syrupy texture of the beer rolled across my tongue and swam to my stomach.
“Oh, wow, that’s really sweet,” I said as I smacked my lips. “It’s delicious, but it’s like nothing I’ve ever had before. I’m not exactly a beer connoisseur, but I can’t say the taste is familiar.”
“It’s mead from the dwarven halls of Mount Stometi,” Kyrine said. “Do you like it?”
I took another mouthful. “I love it. But I’d only be able to knock back one or two of these. I guess you couldn’t craft a Samuel Adams lager? Maybe a Bud Light?”
Kyrine shook her head. “As I said before, I can only craft those items which I have absorbed previously. But if this Samuel Adams is something you enjoy, then you need only bring a single bottle within the mansion.”
My mouth pulled into a broad grin. “Then you could create an endless supply of beer?”
“Indeed.”
I grabbed Kyrine in my free arm and planted a kiss on her lips. She seemed almost bashful at the sudden show of affection, but I didn’t care. An endless supply of beer! This mansion was like some kind of heavenly sanctuary, and I had my very own divine being who could stretch out her hands and make the nectar of the gods appear.
“I’m glad that I please you,” Kyrine said after I’d released her.
“You know, there are other things that you could create. The health potion, for instance. The one you gave me out there in your lava chamber was really powerful. A potion of that grade is bound to sell for thousands of dollars.”
