- About the Author
With each mouthful, she’d trace her tongue over her lips, then suck her fingers clean. It was almost as though she’d practiced the art of eating cake for the single purpose of making me feel horny again. My reproductive tools were functioning at 100%, and seeing Astrid’s cake-eating regimen made all the blood in my body fill my cock with limb-numbing haste.
In little time, the dish was clean, and there was no sign of the cake save for a few crumbs. I half-expected Astrid to lick the plate clean, but she seemed satisfied with leaving a few morsels. She patted her stomach, which looked no less flat for all the cake she’d consumed.
“Ah, that was great,” she said. “Much better eating it with someone. Belinda hates cake, and Selena hasn’t been around since she was assigned to you.”
I held up a hand to cover a belch, then wiped my mouth. The cake had definitely filled a gap for me, and I felt satisfied and content, but also pretty energized.
“Thanks for making it,” I said. “That really was just what I needed. Kyrine, are you all done with my room?”
“I am,” she replied.
“Great. I’m looking forward to seeing it, but I have a few questions for you first.”
“Ask and I will answer,” Kyrine said.
I took a moment to order my thoughts, then began. “I received some notifications when Astrid was fighting. Something about the dungeon observing her casting spells. What did they mean?”
“I acquire new spells by observing cultivators inside my aura of influence,” Kyrine explained. “When a cultivator casts a spell or uses a power, my dungeon senses slowly come to know the essence of the spell. Once the percentage of understanding reaches 100%, I will have the ability to replicate those spells at a low level. The more powerful the spell, the more time will be required until my knowledge reaches completion. If I continue to observe that same spell even after I have acquired it, the spell will increase in level.”
“So you don’t learn spells the regular way?” I asked. “By absorbing creature cores?”
“That’s correct. A cultivator will gain a spell from absorbing a creature core, but as you have seen, when I absorb a creature core it adds the creature to my database, allowing it to be summoned as a dungeon monster. While this is not always successful, you have managed to do so at a perfect rate so far.”
“Sounds like we lucked out with you, Jeremy,” Astrid said as she playfully nudged my arm.
“I guess so,” I said, “but I still feel like I’m kinda just playing everything by ear. So, Kyrine, what can you do with the spells?”
“Many things. They can be used to enhance traps, or to add to monsters in the creation of monster evolutions. Spells can also be used in the crafting of items.”
