Answering the question with words required too much effort, so Noble used hand gestures to get his message across. First he pointed to Tora and motioned for her to come around and join him at the front of the car. When she was in place next to him, he raised his hands, palm-up, and signaled that he wanted to flip the car over onto its roof.

Argus looked puzzled, but Noble reassured him with a hand gesture. Argus nodded in response, and moments later the three of them were in position, Noble and Tora at the front of the car, Argus at the rear.

When each of them had a firm grip, Noble nodded his head three times. On the third nod they all lifted in unison.

The wheels on the driver’s side of the car came off the ground, but it was obvious that they weren’t going to be able to simply turn the car over onto its roof. The car would have to be rolled, which disappointed Noble, since he’d wanted to do this without damaging any of the vehicles…or making too much noise.

Oh well, maybe they could get away with just a few dents and scratches, and if somebody heard them, maybe they could all escape before they were seen.

They put the car down and Noble motioned for Argus to take the driver’s side while Tora moved around to the rear. Again, Noble counted to three, and on the third count they all lifted together. This time the car rose easily up off the ground, went over onto its side and without much more encouragement, rolled up onto its roof with barely a single dent.

Argus was pleased, the sides of his long, angled snout pulled back to expose a smile full of sharp teeth and fangs. Noble couldn’t help smiling, too. The car had gone over so easily, and with barely a sound, he was eager to try again with one of the heavier vehicles.

They decided on a red pickup truck that had the green Conservco logo on its doors. They needed a symbol that would send a message to the company and this truck would do nicely.

As they’d done before, the three werewolves got into position around the truck, Argus on the driver’s side, Tora in back behind the truck’s bed, and Noble up front. On the count of three they all lifted, and just like the car had done, the truck went over onto its side and continued rolling until it came to a rest on its roof and hood.

Unlike the car, its weight was distributed unevenly, and as the truck rocked gently back and forth, strange sounds emanated from it as the beams supporting the roof twisted under the tremendous stress.

Something had to give.
