  33. About the Author

I stopped my car outside of my garage, hitting the button to open it, and then pulled my phone from the cupholder and unlocked it, passing it to my orc.

Khell's hand on my thigh slid up high, and I hit the brakes a little roughly as I turned and parked in the garage, his fingertips rubbing against the crease of my sex before pulling away. He had one hand scrolling my phone and the other lifting up to his nose, a purr rattling in the dark of my car as the garage door shut behind us.

"We'd better get inside quickly, Sunny. Your cunt needs me."

Fantasy. Reality. It was all jumbling together into something even more impossible than the week in the cottage.

"Unless you'd rather try to squeeze on my lap in here?" Khell teased, gaze glowing.

I jumped out of the driver's side and rushed for the garage door that led to the yard, Khell taking a little longer to unfold himself from the passenger seat.

The coach house sat to the right of the garage, behind the great old house that had been divided into apartments. I shared the yard with the tenants, including a small veggie garden that Khell examined with mild interest before following me. I glanced up at the windows, wondering if any of my neighbors would be surprised to see a giant shirtless orc in the garden, and then hurried to my front door.

Khell's shadow covered mine on the door, and I shivered at the sight, then sighed as his hand clasped the back of my neck.

"We'll make an early night of it. You need rest. And we have time now," Khell said gently. "I'll stay as long as you want me to."

Meaning it wouldn't be over at ten in the morning tomorrow. We weren't on an appointment now. This was…

Except I wasn't sure what it was. Dating? That seemed small for the word mate.

"Sunny," Khell prompted.

I twisted the key in the lock and then stepped inside, holding the door open for Khell. My ceilings were high, that was good. But the doorways were narrow, the stairs and halls too. Khell just barely fit.

He was still using my phone as he stepped in, the screen illuminating his face, but his eyes were focused on my coach house, lips curling up as he took in my space.

"Smells like you. Feels like you," he said. "Curious and playful. Quit hovering at my edges, petal."

I shut the front door, barely remembering to pull the key from the lock, and then ran after Khell into the living room. His arm snapped around my waist as I leapt at him, pressing my face into his throat and wrapping my arms around his shoulders.

"You're here," I whispered, taking a deep breath of him.
