  62. Epilogue

<The latest update on the situation in Pakistan is that Agent Shahim has clearly lost control of the insurgent forces there. While most are dead, some clearly made it into the bunkers. We are unclear how they managed to bypass the security or obtain the launch codes, but they clearly have, and they have managed to launch six HATF-VI Long-Range Nuclear Missiles. We are tracking response protocols in China, America, England, France, Turkey, Iran, India, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. There have been no additional launches as of yet, but Indian forces are on high alert and their missiles have been put on launch ready status, as have the Russian, Israeli, and Chinese offensive and defensive missile systems. The Pakistani government has reached out to key global leaders saying the launch is accidental and that it is not possible that the weapons have active warheads as the terrorists do not have the activation codes.>

<As of now, most countries’ internal communications indicate that they believe the launch is not government sanctioned, but also that they do not believe the warheads are definitively inactive. The fact that the launch occurred at all clearly diminishing their faith in Pakistan’s pleas.>

<Our analysis of the missiles’ trajectories shows a likely projected target of Moscow. Although Moscow is outside the missiles’ tested range, some tests have shown that it is inside their theoretical limit.>

<Based on our analysis, we have two response options to disable the missiles, and three options for gaining further information on the status of Agent Shahim Al Khazar:>

<The missiles’ flight path will intersect with the orbit of one of our orbital satellites in four hours’ time, as we are adjusting our orbits to allow for optimal viewpoints in the coming hours and days. When we cross paths with the missiles, we would be able to use our onboard defense systems to destroy them. However, with the ground-based and satellite surveillance of the world’s superpowers focused on the missiles, there is a disconcertingly high chance that our intervention would be spotted by the humans.>

<Russia has already initiated response protocols and placed its A-135 missile defense system on high alert. With the Pakistani HATF-VI missiles apparently aimed in Russia’s direction, Agent Mikhail Kovalenko could be provided with additional analysis information with which he can encourage a prompt Russian response using their midrange Gorgon Interceptors. These have been retro-fitted with relatively advanced laser guided non-nuclear warheads and would have an 89% probability of destroying the inbound missiles while they are still exo-atmospheric.>
