Judy      Oh honey, I don’t do that. I have people.

Mickey      Not any more you don’t.

Judy      Oh. (Looking at his groin.) Well, then I think it might be time for you to unpack.

Mickey      Judy!

Judy      I just want to make sure nothing else in this hotel has shrunk.

She gets on her knees and is undoing Mickey’s zipper when the bathroom door opens and Anthony steps out.

Anthony      Hello!

Judy (surprised)      Anthony!

Both are shocked. She gets to her feet and Mickey does up his zipper.

Judy      … Is this your room?

Anthony      No, it’s yours. I was in the bathroom.

Judy      You’re sleeping in the bathroom? We have to pay you more.

Anthony      Please. They let me in to check the piano.

Judy      It’s been for ever. I’ve missed you.

Anthony      Me too.

Judy      How long has it been?

Anthony      Last Christmas – in New York. Have you forgotten?

Judy      Of course not! You bought me that beautiful …

Anthony      Earrings.

Judy      That’s right. I never take them off.

Anthony      But I haven’t played for you for … Five years. – Melbourne.

Judy      Melbourne?! Oh … I don’t think Melbourne went terribly well …

Anthony      No, it didn’t.

Judy      But you’re back to play for me anyway?

Anthony      Yes.

Judy      Good for you! Have you met my fiancé?

Anthony      We’ve spoken on the phone, that’s all.

Judy      Well, now here he is in the flesh. (Turning to Mickey.) The best thing that ever happened to me.

She pours herself into Mickey’s arms for a fumbled loving embrace.

She then turns back to Anthony.

Judy      Isn’t he wonderful? And gorgeous?

Anthony (changing subject referring to the cases)      Travelling light, are we?

Judy      The rest are in the lobby. Of course, half of them are just stuffed with old towels, but you have to keep up appearances.

Mickey      Judy, I need to go down and –

Judy      What?

Mickey      Give them some money.

Judy      No, Mickey, you stay here.

Mickey      I told you about this. You have to pay each week in advance.

Judy      We’ll see about that.

Mickey      Judy – let’s not start a problem the first day we –

Judy      Mickey – angel – this is the kind of thing you have to leave to me. We’ll pay them when it’s convenient for us. Now what’s the manager’s name?

Mickey      Mr Crosby.

Judy      Fine. Leave Crosby to me.’

Mickey      I just want everything to go smoothly.

Judy      Oh, it will. With you in charge! My God! This is going to be the biggest success of my career. And Top of the Town.

Anthony      Talk of the Town.
