'A skeleton, Miss Hart. It hasn't been officially identified yet as Bugenhagen's.'

Joan Hart spoke with chilling conviction. ‘Two skeletons, Mr Thorn. One was Bugenhagen's, the other belonged to a young archaeologist named Michael Morgan. Michael Morgan was my fiancé, Mr Thorn. I was with him the day he disappeared. With Bugenhagen.'

Just then, the barricade was lifted and Murray started the car. Thorn jabbed the intercom button furiously.

'Murray, stop the car. Miss Hart is getting out.'

Joan Hart spoke in a rush now: 'The week before your brother died, he flew to Israel to see Carl Bugenhagen. A few days after his death, Bugenhagen and Michael Morgan were buried alive. Doesn't it make you wonder, Mr Thorn?'

Just what I need, Thorn thought, a conspiracy nut. In a minute, she'll be telling me who killed the Kennedys. In a tight, controlled voice, he said, 'Don't make me throw you out, Miss Hart. We're blocking traffic.'

‘You know why the police shot your brother, don't you, Mr Thorn?' Joan Hart's face took on the look of true madness. Her eyes glinted wildly. 'You know about the daggers, don't you?'

Murray was out of the car, holding the door open for her.

'All I know, Miss Hart,' said Thorn, 'is that you're wasting my time and your own.'

'Please listen to me!' Joan Hart was pleading now. 'I've been working on the story for years! I think I've pieced it together-'

Richard Thorn groaned. Not this all over again. He had thought the details of the bizarre religious aspects surrounding his brother's death had been successfully suppressed. But apparently not.

Murray reached in and took Joan Hart by the arm, a bit more roughly than was necessary. Struggling to stay in the car, she shouted at Thorn, 'You're in grave danger!'

'Get away from me,' Thorn snapped back at her. 'Don't ever come near me again. Do you understand?'

'Turn to Jesus!' she begged.

'Murray, for God's sake!'

'Put your faith in Christ!' she sobbed.

Murray all but lifted her out of the car and slammed the door shut behind him. Even as he set her down on the street, she was shouting: 'Yes! For God's sake! Only He can protect you! Look at the paintings on Yigael's Wall, Mr Thorn! Look at the face of Satan and tell me whose face it is!'

'Murray, get me the hell away from this crazy woman!' Thorn shouted.

Murray jumped in the car and started the motor. As the car pulled away, Joan Hart ran after it, banging on the back window and screaming, 'Listen to me! You've got to listen to me!'
