“Do you want me to stop, Princess? Walk away. Make it so that you never see me again?”
His question pinched at my heart as tears slowly slid down my cheeks. The idea of never seeing him again made me gasp for air. I could withstand plenty of things in life, but I wasn’t sure if losing him was something my heart would bear again. What did that make me? Probably an idiot.
“I don’t want you to hurt me.”
Wetness stained my cheek from the wicked lash of his hot tongue. “Never thought the taste of your tears would make my cock hard as steel.”
I whimpered at his anger and mourned the boy he was.
“I want to fuck you until you forget your pain, and I forget my rage. Hurting you isn’t what I have in mind, Devlynn. I want to wipe away how looking at you makes me feel.”
“How do I make you feel?”
“Like I’m possessed by Satan, and you’re the damn fucking cure.”
Cool air teased my exposed skin right before the sting of his hand hit my ass, making me yelp. “I should spank you, Devlynn. Turn this creamy ass red for all the hell you put me through. For making me think of you, crave you. You’ve been a bad girl, Devlynn.”
His words were sharp, and his tone was low and deadly. I kicked, and when he stumbled backward, I pulled up my pants and ran.
“Running won’t stop me, Devlynn.” The rush of his feet followed me. His boots hit the cement as he chased me. “Have you never seen what a junkie will do for a hit?”
“You’re not a junkie,” I yelled behind me, but my feet didn’t stop moving.
I was stopped in my tracks when his strong arms wrapped around my body. My body lunged forward, but my feet weren’t on the ground. Elis had picked me up and was moving me to a nearby tree.
“You’re wrong, Devlynn. I’m the worst kind of junkie there is. I’ll do anything to get my hit. I have no morals about it. It’s your fault, you know. You should have never stepped back into my orbit. You should’ve stayed locked up in your Park Avenue tower and stayed the fuck away from me.”
I kicked my feet, desperate to connect with any part of him, hoping he’d let me go.
His hold tightened, and his teeth grazed my earlobe. “Why are you fighting me, Princess? We both know you want it. You don’t have to pretend in the dark. Here you can be dirty. I know you want to be. That perfect rich girl facade is for your tower, Rapunzel, not when you’re on the ground desperate to come on my cock like my good slut.”
“I want no such thing,” I lied.
