“I’m supposed to work tonight,” she says, looking down.

“I’ll close Hex. I don’t really care. We don’t need the money from the restaurant, anyway. It’s more so to keep us busy. Especially now since I’m removing all my financial contributions from the coven’s trust.”

Stevie nods her head. “Only if you’re sure.”

“I’m sure, Stevie. Stay home. I’ll be back later.” I walk over and give my cousin one more hug before I get ready for the day.

The only thing that’s going to make me feel better is by making someone else feel worse.

I leave the UPS store with a smile on my face, around three hundred papers in one hand, and packing tape in the other.

With pure glee, I delicately place one of the flyers about every ten feet as I go down Main Street. I receive some glares, but people are reading the flyers and that’s all that matters.

Looking down at the bright yellow paper, I smile. Lennon, the bored UPS printing employee, was more than eager to use their design knowledge to help me create this masterpiece. It’s a picture of Ryan holding a kitten in one arm and a dog in the other. I took this picture about a month ago when he invited me to an animal shelter event his brokerage was holding. Except both him and the pets have laser beams shooting out of their eyes and the heading above it says ‘Ryan Fuller, Hallowsdeep’s most untrustworthy realtor. Don’t trust him around your house or your pussy.’ The laser beams from the cat’s eyes are setting homes on fire in the background. Like I said, Lennon has some serious talent.

I’m still angry about everything but, like I predicted, making someone else’s day worse is, in fact, making me feel better. The best part is I know he has an open house, so he won’t be seeing these for a few hours. Assuming that no one sends him a message about them.

Plus, I have plans for his open house, anyway. I already looked up the listing through Zillow. It’s pretty impressive. Bluetooth speakers wired around the home and everything. I looked up the family online, the dumbasses use their dogs name as the password. So gaining access isn’t difficult.

I continue my leisurely pace downtown, taking about twenty steps. Taping a poster, twenty steps, and another poster. I must exude don’t fuck with me energy, because no one stops me. I even saw Sheriff Clemons drive past. He shook his head but just kept driving. A wise choice, old man.

After an hour of plastering Hallowsdeep with the beautiful yellow flyers, I finally get in my Jeep and drive to the next destination. 7884 Marrow Way, the next stop on my plan to make Ryan’s life a living Hell. Checking my watch, it’s almost three and the open house is full of at least four different couples. I take this opportunity to walk into the home, connecting my iPhone and playing the second recording.
