- About the Author
It was like finding yourself in the presence of perfection. I wanted to run my hands over every tan inch of him, scatter kisses along his collarbone, and feel him deep inside me.
“Yes,” he said softly.
“What?” I asked, meeting his jade-green eyes.
“Whatever you’re thinking of… yes. Do it. Stop thinking about it, and just do it.”
He was right. I’d spent far too many hours and days dreaming of him. Of what I’d do if I had him and then feeling guilty for even considering it. Now, he was here, naked and wrapped around me like a sexy warm blanket. It was time to stop thinking and time to start living.
So, I did. My fingers dived into his hair as I placed tiny kisses along his torso and chest. My legs were tightly around him, and I felt him hard and ready against my pulsating core.
In one quick motion, he flipped onto his back, taking me with him. On my knees, I was in position just over him.
My eyes took in the sight of his rock-hard erection so close to me. All I had to do was sink down, and we’d be one.
Finally.
“It has to be your decision, remember?” he said, firmly placing his hands on my thighs. “I want you more than I’ve wanted anything, but like I said before… I want you to want it just as much. So, show me, Cara. Show me how much you want me.”
I’d never been keen on romances. I didn’t cry during movies, and I preferred a good mystery book to a smutty one. Maybe it was because I truly didn’t understand romance—until now.
Tyler and I had been safe… predictable.
I remembered reading that old saying, I need you more than air, in a book. I’d told Tyler I thought it was cheesy and stupid. We’d laughed over it and gone out to dinner—the same place we always went when he was home. He’d even ordered the same entree.
But, staring down at Roman, seeing the mixture of tenderness, lust, and desire in his eyes, I got it all—not just the flowers and cheesy gifts on Valentine’s Day, but that feeling.
That feeling that if you couldn’t be with that one person, the air in your lungs was useless.
Because why breathe at all if you couldn’t have this? If you couldn’t have him?
Taking Roman’s hands, I brought them up to my chest and placed each one atop my breasts, holding my hands with his.
My eyes never left his as I slowly lowered myself, savoring every sensation. The first touch, we both moaned, his fingers digging into my skin. With a gentle glide, my body stretched, making room for him, and with the smooth finish when I took him completely, the room was quiet and still.
