“A rodeo?”

“Yeah, and another piece of bad news—there are no hotels or motels available in a twenty-mile radius. You can drive into Redmond and I can get you a room at the Motel 7, but that’s the only hotel available.”

“You mean Motel 6?”

“No, it’s definitely Motel 7. It has a one-and-a-half-star rating, so I didn’t bother getting a room. The last review said something about a pest infestation?”

“Fine. Just set the appointment for the morning if Raymond isn’t injured. We’ll be okay for one night.” She clicked off the call, so perturbed she could spit nails. Which would actually be helpful considering the paneling in the kitchen looked loose in several areas.

Chase drew in a deep breath. “We don’t have to stay here tonight, right? There’s no heat, it smells like death, and there’s a rabid cat trapped in the cabinets. That’s a deal breaker, Olivia.”

“You guys can come stay at my place,” Zeke offered. “I have an extra bedroom and a pull-out couch. Sometimes I snore, but I’ve been told it’s sort of adorable. Besides, I made a big pot of chili earlier, and though I have to be up at the ass crack of dawn and can’t offer you breakfast in bed, I think you’ll be more comfortable with heat and hot water.”

“Perfect,” Chase said, spinning on her heel and heading toward the bag she’d placed on the dining room table. “Let’s go.”

“Not so fast,” Olivia said, setting her hand on the top of Chase’s bag. “We’re not going to Zeke’s. We’re staying here.”

“Are you insane?” Chase said, pulling her bag from Olivia’s grasp. “You can stay here. I’m going with Big Sexy to his place. He has chili. And heat.”

Olivia crossed her arms. “You owe me a dare. So, Chase, I dare you to stay with me in this cabin overnight.”

Chase narrowed her eyes. “We’re not playing that game anymore.”

“Who said? If I remember correctly, you said ‘Dare,’ and I got distracted by our arrival at Foghat’s, but if you remember, I did my dare.”

“And scarred half the restaurant. That poor man tried to do the Heimlich on you. Not to mention, you’re really bad at faking orgasms.”

Olivia frowned. “Well, maybe so, but I did it. Are you chickening out, Miss London?”

“You can’t do this.” Chase tugged on her bag again. “You’re not being fair. Staying in this place is dangerous, and you said dares couldn’t be dangerous.”

“It’s not dangerous. Maybe uncomfortable, but not dangerous. Besides, it’s unlikely you’ll have someone assault you the way I did at Foghat’s. That man nearly cracked my rib.”

Chase blew out an aggravated breath. “You should have sold your orgasm better if you didn’t want people to think you were having a seizure or something. That’s on you.”

Behind them Zeke muttered, “What kind of therapy is this?”

Olivia ignored him and leveled a look at Chase. “Well. Are you in or out? Because if you forfeit, I win.”
