She hadn’t caught her breath yet when she said, “Hurry up and get my door for me.”
She dug around her purse for the keys, and I jerked on the handle, but it was locked. Jessa giggled while I teased her neck with kisses and hugged all over her. When my hands made it down to her hips, she pushed me away.
“You wanna get outta here or not?” She said.
“This’s just as good a place as any, ain’t it?”
Jessa pinched my arm, and this time it hurt. “I ain’t doing nothing in the parking lot of no hillbilly bar.”
I put my hands up in surrender, taking a step away. “I didn’t know this was a date.”
She looked at me and laughed. “Shit, you didn’t even buy me a drink, did you?”
I shrugged. “Hell, I can’t remember if I paid for mine.”
“We better get outta here then,” she said, pulling her key ring from her purse, unlocked the door, and let me open it for her. Jessa tossed her purse into the back, plopped her ass down into the driver’s seat, and leaned over the console to unlock the door. Her shorts inched up her thighs and squeezed her ass, slowing the blood flow to my brain so bad I forgot to go get in the car. She turned back to me. “What are you waiting on? Get in the car.” After she lifted the enchantment she put me in—I ran around to the other side of the car while she argued with the ignition, making the engine knock when it turned over, and I wondered if we’d make it anywhere.
Jessa pulled me in for a kiss and ran her hand down to my crotch, she squeezed my balls, and I said, “Thought you wasn’t gone do nothing in no parking lot?”
“I ain’t,” she said, “but I’m curious about what I get to play with,” she added, without bothering to pull away from our lip lock.
“It’ll do what needs doing.”
That made her giggle. “Let’s go find out then, sweetheart.”
She tried to push me over to my side of the car, but I came back over and kissed her neck while she backed out of the spot. “You’ll make me wreck if you ain’t careful.”
“You wanna go back to my place?”
She stomped on the brake when a truck backed into her peripheral vision and looked over at me. It was the first time all night she didn’t act a flirt with me. “Not if your brother will be home later on tonight.”
“Shit, probably,” I said. “Unless he goes home with Brystal, but she usually comes over to our place.”
Jessa drove her car to the end of the row and followed the truck to the parking lot’s exit. In the glow of the Due South neon bar sign, her smile stretched clear across her face and exposed all her teeth, reminding me of a lioness who kills the antelope for her pride. The only thing missing was a stain of blood around her mouth. “I know somewhere we can go.”
