Review
Great book!, January 16, 2004 By Holly A.
I thought Rebekah was an great book, even though it was fiction, it really helps you think of what these women were thinking. I can't get into the sci-fi books of Orson Scott Card like my friends, but I really enjoyed this book and his first one Sarah.
A Must Read Book!, January 05, 2002 By Sandra
Rebekah is a wonderfully done book of this courageous woman from the book of Genesis. OSC has done it again, he has somehow gotten inside the personality and mind of those who lived so long ago. Reading this book was not only an enlightening experience concerning the family life and culture of the time, but also a time to heal and to grow from the understanding that we are a product of our upbringing, but that regardless of this product, we can heal and change. Thank you Orson for your insight and creativity!

About Orson Scott Card
Orson Scott Card is an American author best known for science fiction, particularly Ender's Game, a novel that explores military training, childhood, intelligence, moral responsibility, and the consequences of war. His work frequently combines speculative technology with questions about human relationships, leadership, ethics, and the choices people make under pressure. Although he is especially associated with science fiction, he has also written fantasy, historical fiction, short stories, plays, essays, and other forms of literature. His novels often place characters in situations where the apparent solution to a problem creates new moral difficulties. Readers who enjoy futuristic settings, strategic conflicts, complex protagonists, and stories that invite debate about the difference between winning and doing what is right will find several important works in his bibliography.
Early Life and Education
Orson Scott Card was born on August 24, 1951, in Richland, Washington, and grew up in a family that valued reading and storytelling. He developed an early interest in literature and theater, which later influenced his approach to characterization and dramatic structure. Card studied at Brigham Young University and later pursued graduate studies at the University of Utah. His educational experiences and involvement in theater helped him develop skills in dialogue, scene construction, and the presentation of conflict.
Before becoming widely known as a novelist, Card worked on theatrical projects and wrote stories for publication. This combination of interests helped shape a style that often emphasizes clear scenes, strong dialogue, and emotionally charged decisions. His fiction frequently feels dramatic because characters are placed in situations where they must reveal their beliefs through action rather than merely explaining them. Readers may disagree with a character's decision while still understanding the pressures that led to it.
Ender's Game
Ender's Game, published as a novel in 1985, is Card's most famous work. It follows Andrew Wiggin, commonly known as Ender, a gifted child recruited into a military training program designed to prepare humanity for a possible future conflict with an alien species called the Formics. Ender is sent to Battle School, where young recruits participate in increasingly demanding exercises that test their intelligence, leadership, creativity, and ability to work under pressure.
The training environment turns games into serious tests of strategy and psychological endurance. Ender must learn how to understand opponents, coordinate teammates, and make decisions when the rules appear unfair or incomplete. The novel is especially compelling because Ender's abilities are accompanied by emotional vulnerability. He is...Read More
